Henry Mare's Leg Side Gate 357 Mag 12.9" 5rd Pistol

Steve McQueen carried a cut down lever gun on Wanted: Dead or Alive, and the Mare's Leg has been a cowboy favorite ever since. Henry's version is a modified Big Boy Brass Side Gate: a lever action pistol with no shoulder stock, a 12.9 inch octagon barrel, and a walnut grip cut to the shape of the gun used on the show. It is chambered in 357 Magnum and also fires 38 Special.

The gleaming hardened brass receiver has a side loading gate, so you can top off the five round tube without stopping, and Henry kept its removable inner magazine tube for safe, easy unloading. The large loop lever makes fast follow up shots easy, and a saddle ring hangs off the side. Sights are a brass bead front and a fully adjustable semi buckhorn rear with a diamond insert. A transfer bar safety sits in the hammer. It weighs 5.79 pounds and is 25 inches long, so it rides in a scabbard or saddle holster. Most buyers want it for cowboy action, for the collection, or just because it is fun to shoot.
