About the Glock 45 Gen6 9mm
The 45 is Glock's crossover: a full size 17 length frame with the compact 19 slide and 4.02 inch barrel on top. You get a full grip for both hands and less weight and length out front, which is why so many agencies moved to it. Gen6 reworks the part that matters most on a crossover gun, the frame, with a palm swell, an enlarged beavertail, an extended thumb rest and RTF6 texture spread over more surface area than the previous generation.
The slide gets angled serrations cut deeper into the metal, a raised border around the slide stop lever to prevent accidental hits, and the Gen6 optic ready system. The trigger is flat faced for a more consistent finger position. Glock's SAFE ACTION system carries over: three independent passive safeties, all released by the trigger and all reset when it returns forward. Three magazines come with the pistol, each holding 10 rounds. The frame takes interchangeable backstraps, the magazine catch reverses for left handed shooters, and the slide stop lever is ambidextrous, so the pistol adapts to the person running it rather than the other way around. A short accessory rail up front takes a weapon light.
