Dickinson Adam 45 American Eagle 45 ACP 5" Pistol

Dickinson's Adam 45 American Eagle is a 1911 in 45 ACP with a 5" barrel, the configuration the design was born in. What Dickinson emphasises on this line is the metal. Both the frame and the barrel are forged steel, and the frames are produced through a dedicated hot forging process using molds cut for the job. Forging lines up the grain of the steel with the shape of the part, which is why it has stayed the preferred method for pistol frames that see hard use.

A 5" 45 ACP 1911 is a known quantity. The slide is long enough to soak up recoil, the cartridge is slow and heavy rather than sharp, and the single action trigger gives a short, clean break with a short reset behind it. Guns in this pattern shoot well because the design has had more than a hundred years of refinement poured into it and because parts, sights, holsters and grips come from a hundred different sources.
