Dickinson Adam 1911 Rainbow 45 ACP 8rd Pistol

The Adam 1911 Rainbow is a full size 45 ACP finished in polished rainbow PVD across both the slide and the frame. The slide is steel, CNC machined and cut with B pattern serrations; the frame is steel with a beavertail at the tang. Magazine capacity is 8 rounds.

PVD is a thin, hard surface treatment, and on a polished steel 1911 it throws color differently as the gun turns in the light. Both major components get it here rather than just the slide, so the pistol reads as one piece instead of a two tone. Under the finish it is the same forged steel construction as the rest of the Adam line, with the barrel and frame forged and the slide machined to match. The B pattern serrations still give the fingers something square to pull against, the beavertail still keeps the hand high on the frame, and the single action trigger and 8 round magazine are standard 1911 practice. It is a working gun wearing a display finish.
