Colt Combat Elite Defender 45 ACP 3" Stainless Pistol

The Defender is the shortest 1911 Colt builds, a 3" barrel carry gun chambered in 45 ACP and finished in Combat Elite trim. Cutting a 1911 to this length changes how it behaves. The slide is shorter and lighter, the recoil cycle is quicker, and the gun asks a little more of the shooter's grip than a Government model does. In return it hides under a shirt in a way a full size 1911 never will, and it does it with a real 45 ACP chambering rather than a downsized cartridge.
