Same Combat Elite treatment, chambered in 9mm instead of 45 ACP. Full stainless steel construction under a two tone coating, a 5" National Match barrel, and a slide cut for a red dot with a mounting plate over the pocket. Under the plate arrangement is a G style serrated rear and a genuine Novak night front sight, so the iron sights are still there when the optic comes off.

A 1911 in 9mm is a different animal from the 45. The slide is running a lighter cartridge in a frame built for a heavier one, so felt recoil drops off sharply and the front sight barely leaves the target between shots - which is why 9mm 1911s have taken over so much of the practice and competition side of the 1911 world. Colt's dual spring recoil system helps there too, and it stretches recoil spring life at the same time. G10 grips, an upswept beavertail and an ambidextrous thumb safety carry over from the rest of the Combat Elite line. It is a steel gun that weighs what a steel gun weighs, and it shoots softer than almost anything else that heavy.
