Colt 1911 Combat Elite 45 ACP 5" 8rd Optic Ready Two-Tone Pistol

The Combat Elite is Colt's duty pattern 1911 with an optic cut added to the slide. The frame and slide are stainless steel wearing the two tone treatment Colt uses on this line, the barrel is a 5" National Match, and the magazine holds eight rounds of 45 ACP. The optic cut sits under a removable cover plate, so the pistol runs clean until a red dot goes on it, and a tritium front sight with a serrated rear stays in place for backup aiming when the dot is off or dead.

The rest of the package is aimed at people who actually shoot 1911s rather than collect them. G10 grips give a texture that holds up with sweaty hands, an upswept beavertail keeps the web of the hand out of the hammer, and the thumb safety is ambidextrous. Colt's dual spring recoil system takes some of the sharpness out of a steel framed 45 and stretches the interval between spring changes. A short aluminum trigger and a serrated mainspring housing round it out. It is heavy, it is metal, and it shoots the way a full size 1911 in 45 ACP is supposed to shoot.
