Browning AB3 Pro Hunter 7mm Rem Mag 26" 3rd Dark Maple Rifle

The Pro Hunter version of Browning's AB3 puts a AAA grade dark maple stock on the company's workhorse bolt gun, and in 7mm Rem Mag it becomes a legitimate open country rifle. Barrel length matters more with this cartridge than with most: magnum powder charges need room to burn, and the 26" tube turns that powder into velocity instead of muzzle blast.

The barrel is spiral fluted with a matte blued finish that does not throw glare on a sunlit slope, and the bolt body is fluted to match. The muzzle is threaded with a protector installed, so a brake is a straightforward addition on a cartridge that pushes back like this one. Browning's Inflex recoil pad sits on the butt and steers the comb down and away from the face under recoil, which is the difference between a rifle a hunter shoots and one they flinch behind. A top tang safety keeps the thumb in a natural position behind the bolt, and the bolt lock override lets the action be opened with the safety still engaged for unloading at the truck. The receiver is drilled and tapped for bases, the barrel is free floating, and the detachable box magazine holds 3rd.
