Browning X-Bolt 2 Hunter Grade II 7mm Rem Mag 26" 3rd Rifle

The 7mm Rem Mag is a reach cartridge. Heavy for caliber bullets at magnum velocity give it flat trajectory and good wind performance well past where most hunters are comfortable shooting, and it still carries enough energy for elk and moose at ranges where a standard cartridge is running out of steam. Browning gives it a 26" barrel here, which is the length that lets a magnum actually burn its powder charge instead of throwing the last of it down the canyon as muzzle blast.

The Hunter Grade II wears checkered Grade II walnut with a satin finish over a matte blued sporter contour barrel. A radial brake rides on the threaded muzzle, and in this chambering that brake is not a luxury. Recoil is meaningful, and a rifle a hunter will practice with beats one that gets shot three times a year. Browning reworked the receiver and the bolt for the X-Bolt 2, and the X-Lock scope mounting system anchors each base with four screws for a zero that survives the trip in. The magazine holds three rounds, which is normal for a belted magnum in a standard length action. Right hand action and a drilled and tapped receiver.
