About the Beretta 84F Cheetah 380
The 84 is Beretta's double stack 380, and the F suffix marks the version with the slide mounted safety and decocker in place of the earlier arrangement. Thirteen rounds of 380 ACP in a pistol this size was a serious number when the Cheetah family arrived, and the wide grip needed to hold them is a large part of why the gun shoots as flat as it does. The 3.8" barrel sits under Beretta's open top slide, so you can look straight into the chamber and empty cases leave without a fight.
The trigger is traditional double action: a long, heavy first pull on an exposed hammer, then short single action strokes for everything after it. The 84 is a straight blowback design with no locking lugs to time or wear out, which is a big part of why so many of these are still running decades on. The frame is aluminum alloy, so carry weight stays sensible while the steel slide takes the punishment. This particular pistol is previously owned and graded excellent, which sits at the top of the usual used grading scale and describes a mechanically sound gun with minimal finish wear. Guns from this era were built for police and agency issue, and the ones that come back in this condition tend to have spent their careers in a holster rather than on a range.
