Weatherby Vanguard Compact Hunter 243 Win 20" 4rd Rifle

The Vanguard Compact Hunter is the rifle that grows with the shooter. A removable spacer in the injection molded composite stock changes the length of pull, so a young hunter can start short and a full size adult can add it back for a proper fit. The stock is black with orange and gray accents, and the metal wears a Tungsten Cerakote finish. It is chambered in 243 Winchester with a 20 inch #1 contour cold hammer forged barrel threaded 1/2-28, and it comes with a recoil reducing muzzle brake installed.

The 243 Win is a mild shooting deer and coyote round, and with the brake it is about as gentle as a centerfire hunting rifle gets, which makes it a solid first deer rifle. The short barrel also handles well inside a ground blind. You still get the full Vanguard feature set: an adjustable match quality two stage trigger, a 3 position safety, a fluted one piece bolt, an integral recoil lug and a hinged floorplate under the 4 round magazine. Weatherby's sub MOA accuracy guarantee applies, and sling swivel studs are in place for a carry strap.
