Weatherby 307 Range SF 7mm Backcountry 16" 5rd Tungsten Heavy Barrel Rifle

The Model 307 is Weatherby's answer to shooters who would rather modify a rifle than replace it. The action is a two lug, fully cylindrical design meant to accept the stocks, triggers, rails, mounts, and magazines already sitting on shelves, which is a departure from how Weatherby used to do business. The Range SF is the version aimed at the bench. Its bolt comes apart without tools for cleaning and carries an M16 style extractor, and the TriggerTech Field trigger adjusts externally, so there is no stripping the rifle down to change the pull.

The 16 inch heavy contour barrel wears a tungsten finish and is threaded at the muzzle with an Accubrake fitted. Sixteen inches is short for a rifle barrel, which is the point on a suppressor host, and 7mm Backcountry was drawn up specifically to hold velocity in shorter barrels. The stock is a lightweight synthetic with a vertical grip, an adjustable cheekpiece, and an adjustable length of pull, textured at the touch points so it does not slip when wet. Dual front swivel studs let a bipod and a sling both live up front. The Magpul detachable magazine holds 5 rounds and the rifle also runs AICS pattern magazines.
