Weatherby Vanguard Talon 243 Win 24" Tungsten Rifle

The Vanguard Talon brings the lightweight features of Weatherby's Backcountry 2.0 family into the Vanguard line. This one is chambered in 243 Winchester, a mild recoiling cartridge for deer, pronghorn and varmints. The heart of the rifle is the stock: a Peak 44 Blacktooth carbon fiber stock weighing about 19 oz, the same stock used on the Backcountry Ti 2.0, with green and white sponge pattern accents and a Peak 44 3DHEX recoil pad. Weatherby says the Talon cuts over a full pound compared with other Vanguards.

The barrel, receiver and trigger guard are Tungsten Cerakote, and the bolt and safety are Graphite Black Cerakote. The 24" cold hammer forged barrel is threaded and comes with an Accubrake ST. Like every Vanguard, it is guaranteed to shoot a 3 shot group of .99" or less at 100 yards from a cold barrel with Weatherby factory or premium ammunition. The action uses a one piece machined, fluted bolt body, a fully enclosed bolt sleeve and an integral recoil lug, with a hinged floorplate underneath. An adjustable, match quality two stage trigger and a three position safety finish the package. It is a light, quick handling rifle for carrying a long way before the shot.
