Weatherby Vanguard Badlands 300 Wby Mag 24" 3rd Rifle

The Weatherby Vanguard Badlands was the first production rifle dressed in Badlands Approach camo, a pattern that uses adaptive coloration and layered shapes so the eye cannot tell where one shape ends and the next begins. This one is chambered in 300 Weatherby Magnum, a flat shooting magnum with the energy for elk and long shots across open country, and it runs a 24" #2 contour barrel threaded 1/2-28.

The barrel, receiver and trigger guard wear Burnt Bronze Cerakote, and the polymer Monte Carlo stock has a raised comb for a solid cheek weld behind a scope. Weatherby's adjustable two stage match trigger gives a clean break, the safety is a three position design, and the fluted, one piece machined bolt body runs in a fully enclosed bolt sleeve. A hinged floorplate makes unloading the 3 round magazine simple, the barrel is cold hammer forged, and the Vanguard recoil pad takes some of the sting out of the magnum. The rifle weighs about 7.5 pounds.
