Tisas built this 1911 as an America's 250th commemorative. It is a full size gun in 45 ACP with a 5" stainless barrel and a 7rd magazine, so the dimensions and the manual of arms are the ones every 1911 shooter already knows.
Both the slide and the frame are steel, finished in black with gold engraving and gold accents. The 1911 is a single action design, so it carries cocked and locked with the thumb safety up. The slide is serrated for grip when running the action, and the frame has a beavertail at the tang to spread recoil across the web of the hand and keep the hammer clear of skin. It is a commemorative build on a working platform: engraved and gold accented, but still a full size steel 45 with a 5" barrel underneath.
