The Tisas 1911 Duty pairs a full length government slide with an Ed Brown Bobtail frame cut, which is an unusual combination and a useful one. The 5 inch hammer forged stainless barrel gives the sight picture and the balance a 1911 shooter expects, while the bobtail takes the sharp corner off the mainspring housing so the butt does not push a cover garment out at the back. Carry it or shoot it on a square range and the gun works either way.
The build sheet reads like a custom shop order. Extended beavertail grip safety, enhanced trigger, extended ambidextrous thumb safety, flared ejection port and a beveled magazine well that funnels magazines in without a fight. Novak style white dot sights are fitted. Starburst textured G10 grips give a positive hold, and the carbon steel frame and slide wear a black Cerakote finish. Eight rounds of 45 ACP in a steel government sized pistol is a familiar formula, and the added weight up front is what keeps the recoil rolling straight back instead of flipping the muzzle. A cleaning brush and owner manual come with it.
