Taurus Raging Hunter 500 S&W Mag 5.12" 5rd Revolver

The 5.12" Raging Hunter is a 500 S&W Magnum short enough to carry in a chest rig or hip holster as a backup in bear country. It keeps all the features of the longer guns: a ported barrel with a target crown, a top Picatinny rail for optics, and a fixed front sight with an adjustable rear. The matte black finish covers the steel frame, barrel and oxide finished cylinder.

At 59.5 oz unloaded and 11.5" overall, this is still a big revolver, and the weight helps. The five round cylinder is unfluted to add mass, and the Taurus double lock system holds it secure at two points when you are shooting full power loads. The action is double action/single action with a transfer bar safety. Porting reduces muzzle rise so you can get back on target faster, and the black rubber grip with a cushioned insert spreads out the recoil. It also makes a practical hunting handgun for close range shots in thick cover.
