Taurus 608 357 Mag 4" 8rd Stainless Revolver

The Taurus 608 puts eight rounds of 357 Magnum in a large frame cylinder, a capacity few revolvers match. It fires 38 Special and 38 Special +P too, so it works for cheap range sessions as well as full power loads. This model has a 4" ported barrel that keeps the muzzle flat between shots, and the whole gun, from frame to cylinder to barrel, is matte stainless steel.

Taurus hammer forges the 608 and hand fits the action, so the trigger is smooth and crisp out of the box. The action is double action/single action with an exposed hammer, a transfer bar safety and the Taurus Security System key lock. The rear sight is adjustable and the front is fixed. Black finger groove rubber grips give a full hand hold on a gun that weighs 45 oz unloaded and runs 9.67" overall. That weight plus porting makes 357 Magnum easy to control. The 4" barrel is a sensible middle length for a house gun, a range revolver, or a field gun for deer and hogs at close range, with eight shots on board before you reload.
