About the Sons of Liberty Gun
In 1767 the Sons of Liberty flew a flag called the Rebellious Stripes, nine uneven vertical bars, five red and four white, one for each colony that turned up to protest the Stamp Act. That flag is the roll mark on the side of this receiver and it is the reason the thing exists. Sons of Liberty Gun Works forges these from aluminum.
It is a stripped receiver, so nothing is installed. You supply the parts kit, the buffer tube and the stock, which is how most people prefer to start a build anyway. The receiver is machined with a low shelf. The finish is a black hard coat over a bright dip, which resists scuffs and corrosion. Dimensions are standard AR-15, so whatever parts kit and stock you already have on the shelf will fit. Start here and the rest of the build can be as plain or as elaborate as you want to make it.
