The M&P9 M2.0 Metal takes the familiar M&P striker fired layout and swaps the polymer frame for an aluminum one. The frame and stainless steel slide both wear a Tungsten Gray Cerakote finish, and the 4.25 inch stainless barrel carries a black Armornite finish. This version is built for California and other restricted states: it comes with two 10 round magazines, a thumb safety, a magazine disconnect safety and a tactile loaded chamber indicator.

The slide is cut for optics using the C.O.R.E. plate system, so most popular pistol red dots can go on without a trip to a gunsmith. White dot steel sights are on the gun out of the box. The flat face trigger puts your finger in the same spot every press, and the 18 degree grip angle points naturally. Four interchangeable palmswell inserts let you size the grip to your hand, and an accessory rail under the dust cover takes a light. At about 30 oz empty it has more heft than a polymer M&P. A good fit for someone who wants a full size, metal framed 9mm for home defense or range work where magazine limits apply.
