Sig Sauer CROSS 308 Win 16" 5rd Bronze Rifle

The CROSS was Sig's first bolt gun and it came at the problem from a different direction than everyone else. Instead of a chassis bolted to a hunting action, the whole rifle is built around a one piece aluminum receiver with the stock folding off the side, which means no buffer tube, no fixed length, and a package that goes in a pack. This one is a 16 inch 308 Win in bronze Cerakote with a 5 round magazine.

The barrel is a stainless Taper-Lok, brushed and free floating inside an M-LOK handguard, and the muzzle is threaded. The stock adjusts for length of pull and cheek height and folds against the receiver to cut roughly ten inches off the overall length for transport. A two stage adjustable match trigger handles the break. Sixteen inches in 308 is the practical choice for a rifle that gets carried into steep country or hangs a suppressor on the end, and the shorter tube makes the CROSS handle more like a carbine than a precision rifle. It is light, it folds, and it shoots well past where most people expect a short barreled bolt gun to hold together.
