Buckmasters is Sig's hunting scope line, and 3-9x50 is the configuration most deer rifles end up wearing. Three power keeps a wide view for still hunting and short shots out of a stand. Nine power is enough to pick a shoulder apart across a cut field. The 50mm objective is the reason to choose this one over the 40mm: more glass up front means more light reaching your eye at the two edges of the day when game moves.

Nine power is also a sensible ceiling for field shooting.
