Sig Sauer Buckmasters 3-9x40mm Riflescope Combo Kit

A 3-9x40 is the scope most hunters land on after they try something more complicated. Three power gives a wide picture for a shot that happens fast at thirty yards, nine power covers the far side of a field, and the 40mm objective keeps the scope low over the bore so the rifle still mounts naturally. Buckmasters is the hunting end of Sig's optics catalog, aimed at whitetail rifles rather than target guns.

The smaller front lens is the trade here: a bit less light than a 50mm, in exchange for lower rings, less weight and a package that carries better in timber. For most of the shots a deer rifle takes, that is the right side of the trade.
