The Axis 2 XP is Savage's scoped package rifle, and this one is chambered in 243 Win. A 3-9x40 scope comes mounted and bore sighted at the factory, with fully coated lenses and toolless windage and elevation adjustments, so the rifle arrives ready to confirm zero rather than ready to start a mounting job. The barrel is matte black carbon steel and comes threaded at the muzzle, and the receiver is drilled and tapped underneath the scope.
Feeding is from a 4rd detachable box magazine. The AccuTrigger is user adjustable, which lets a shooter set a lighter break without an aftermarket part or a trip to a gunsmith. The stock is OD Green synthetic with a contoured pistol grip, ambidextrous palm swells and added texturing at the grip points, and length of pull adjusts to fit the shooter or a growing young hunter.
