Savage Arms Axis 2 XP 243 Win 20" 4rd Rifle with 3-9x40 Scope

The Axis 2 XP is Savage's ready to hunt package: rifle, bases, rings and a 3-9x40 scope that leaves the factory already mounted and bore sighted. That saves a trip to a gunsmith and most of a box of ammunition getting on paper. In 243 Winchester it is a sensible fit for deer and antelope, and it is one of the easiest centerfire cartridges to start a new hunter on, because recoil is mild enough that nobody develops a flinch over it.

What separates the Axis 2 from the original Axis is the user adjustable AccuTrigger, which lets the owner tune the trigger without a gunsmith. Length of pull adjusts as well, so the rifle grows with a young shooter and still fits an adult in heavy clothing. The 20" carbon steel barrel is threaded at the muzzle for a brake or a can, the receiver is drilled and tapped, and the gray synthetic stock has enhanced texturing, a contoured pistol grip and ambidextrous palm swells. Ammunition rides in a detachable box magazine holding 4 rounds, so topping off does not mean fishing rounds through the ejection port. This is a working rifle rather than a showpiece, and everything on it is there because it makes the gun shoot better or fit better.
