Savage 110 Scout 450 Bushmaster 16.5" 4rd FDE Rifle

Put 450 Bushmaster in a 16.5" scout rifle and you get a straight wall deer gun built for the states that require one. The cartridge sends a heavy, wide bullet at woods ranges and tends to end the tracking job early, while the short barrel keeps the rifle quick through brush and easy to handle from a stand or a blind. The muzzle brake on the end takes some of the sting out of a cartridge that never needed help hitting hard in the first place.

Everything else is standard Savage Model 110. The AccuTrigger is user adjustable without a trip to a gunsmith, and the AccuFit stock system lets you set comb height and length of pull with the spacers and risers included, which matters more than people admit once you are shooting in a heavy coat. Adjustable iron sights come mounted from the factory, and the forward rail ahead of the ejection port takes a long eye relief scope so you can keep both eyes open and stay aware of what is moving around you. The detachable magazine holds four rounds. The flat dark earth synthetic stock and matte black metal keep the rifle from flashing in the timber, and soft touch grip surfaces give you something to hold when your hands are cold.
