The 204 Ruger is a varmint cartridge with a following, and for good reason. It throws light .204 bullets fast, stays flat inside 400 yards, and does it with so little recoil that you can watch your own impacts through the scope. Ruger builds this Generation II American around a 20" cold hammer forged barrel with deep spiral flutes and a threaded muzzle wearing a factory radial port brake.

Capacity is worth noting here: the rifle feeds from a 10 round AI pattern magazine, which is a real advantage on a prairie dog town where reloading eats shooting time. The stock adjusts for length of pull with a removable spacer, the comb lifts out for taller scope mounts, and the Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger is set by the owner rather than the factory. A one piece stainless bolt with a 70 degree throw and a three position tang safety round out the action, and a Picatinny base is already on the receiver waiting for rings.
