Rock Island Armory 1911 GI Standard FS 38 Super 5" 10rd Pistol

This is the Rock Island Armory GI Standard FS chambered in 38 Super, a cartridge with a long history in 1911s and a big following among competition shooters. It is a full size Government pattern pistol with a 5" barrel, a steel frame and slide in a black parkerized finish, and a 10 round magazine. The fixed GI style sights sit low on the slide, the grip panels are smooth wood, and the frame has a beavertail grip safety along with the manual thumb safety.

38 Super pushes a 9mm size bullet faster than 9mm Luger with less recoil than 45 ACP. In a heavy all steel 1911 it is soft and fast to shoot. The single action trigger breaks clean out of the box. The classic series 70 style lockwork is easy to maintain, parts are easy to find, and the pistol is simple to upgrade later. It works as a range gun, a home defense pistol or a step into 38 Super for a 1911 collector. One 10 round magazine is included.
