About this product
The Colt 1911 Classic Government in 38 Super is a tribute to the commercial Government Model pistols of the past. It has a 5" National Match barrel, a 9 round magazine, and the Series 70 firing system with pre Series 70 style rollmarks.
Colt kept it simple on purpose. The frame and slide are blued carbon steel, the front sight is staked on with a fixed rear, and it has a spurred service hammer and a long trigger, the way a classic Government should. The slide is serrated and the grip safety has a beavertail. At about 35 ounces, the all steel gun stays steady through a string of fire. It is a pure and simple 1911 meant to be made your own, so it works as the base for a custom build or as a classic to shoot the way it is. It includes one 9 round magazine, and the full size Government frame gives plenty of grip for a firm, repeatable hold.
