Rock Island Armory GI Standard FS 45 ACP 5" 8rd Nickel Pistol

The GI Standard FS is Rock Island Armory's take on the original US GI issue 1911, and this one wears a high polish nickel finish over the steel frame and slide. It is a full size Government pattern pistol chambered in 45 ACP with a 5" barrel and an 8 round magazine. The sights are the low, fixed GI type, the slide is serrated, and the frame carries a beavertail grip safety along with the manual thumb safety. Smooth wood grip panels finish the classic look.

The single action trigger breaks crisp out of the box, the way a 1911 should. The 5" barrel gives the pistol enough weight up front to keep the 45 ACP muzzle flip manageable, which is a big part of why this design has been around for more than a century. The nickel finish resists rust and is a change from the usual parkerized GI guns, so this works as a range gun, a first 1911, or a collection piece you will actually want to shoot. One 8 round magazine is included.
