Rock Island Armory 1911 GI Standard FS 45 ACP 5" 8rd Pistol

The GI Standard FS is modeled on the 1911 that the US military carried for decades. Rock Island Armory builds it as a full size Government model in 45 ACP with a 5" barrel, an 8 round magazine and a steel frame and slide in a black parkerized finish. The sights are the low, fixed GI style, the grips are smooth wood, and the frame adds a beavertail grip safety along with the manual thumb safety.

The single action trigger is crisp right out of the box. The 5" barrel and all steel build give the pistol enough weight to keep 45 ACP recoil in check, which is a big reason the design has lasted over a century. It follows the classic series 70 style layout, so parts, holsters and magazines are everywhere, and it makes a solid base if you want to customize later. It works as a first 1911, a heritage piece, or a nightstand gun with a lot of history behind it. One 8 round magazine is included.
