About the PTR 51P 308 Win
The PTR 51P is PTR's base 308 pistol: full power 308 Win (it also accepts 7.62x51 NATO) in a compact roller delayed package. The 8.5" stress relieved, heavy contour barrel has a 1:10" twist and is threaded 5/8-24 for a flash hider, brake or suppressor. Up front is the traditional polymer handguard, and a welded steel Picatinny rail on the receiver gives you a place for an optic. Adjustable iron sights are on the gun.
It runs the roller delayed blowback action of the classic 91 pattern rifles, with a Navy style polymer trigger group, a paddle magazine release and a machined butt cap drilled and tapped for an AR style tube adapter. It weighs about 7.9 lbs unloaded, which helps keep a short 308 manageable. One 20rd aluminum magazine and a trigger cable lock come in a foam lined polymer case. If you already like the roller delayed system and want it in the shortest 308 PTR builds without a brace, this is the one.
