The Daniel Defense DD5 Pistol packs full size large frame AR performance into a 12.5" barreled pistol configuration, giving 7.62x51 shooters a compact, maneuverable option without stepping into SBR tax stamp territory. The cold hammer forged chrome lined proprietary steel barrel runs a mid length gas system paired with a user adjustable gas block, letting the rifle be tuned for suppressed or unsuppressed use without over or under gassing the action.

At the core of the DD5 is Daniel Defense's 4 Bolt Connection System, which increases the contact surface between barrel and upper receiver for added rigidity and bolt action rifle level accuracy from an AR platform. The bolt carrier group is DLC coated and super finished for easy cleaning, and the bolt uses enhanced extractor geometry with dual ejectors for reliable cycling across ammunition types. Fully ambidextrous controls, a GRIP-N-RIP anti gas charging handle and an SB Tactical SBA3 brace make the DD5 Pistol equally capable for home defense, backcountry hog hunting or short range precision work where a 7.62 platform outperforms a 5.56 carbine.
