A carbon fiber barrel blank from Proof Research, cut for bolt guns in .224 with a 16.5 inch length and a Sendero contour.

PXT stands for Proof Exponential Twist, the company's rifling geometry. Instead of a fixed lead angle, the rifling eases the bullet into the bore, which lowers the force needed to engrave it and smooths the transition as it takes the rifling. Proof's own testing reports longer barrel life and less felt torque from the change. As a blank it comes unchambered, so a gunsmith fits it to your action and cuts the chamber you want.
