Proof Research's carbon fiber barrel blank in .243, 22 inches long, Sendero contour, cut for a bolt action.
The PXT name is short for Proof Exponential Twist. Rather than holding one lead angle the whole way, the rifling brings the bullet up to speed of rotation gradually, which cuts the force it takes to engrave the jacket and eases the projectile into the bore. Proof reports longer service life and less torque felt at the shoulder as a result. It arrives as a blank, so chambering and fitting are a gunsmith job.
