Proof Research Elevation MTR 2.0 7mm BC 16.5" 3rd FDE Rifle

The Elevation MTR 2.0 is Proof Research's tactical take on its mountain rifle, and this configuration is a clever one: 7mm Backcountry from a 16.5" carbon fiber barrel. Federal built the 7mm Backcountry case specifically to make magnum class velocity from short barrels, which means this compact rifle gives up far less than the tape measure suggests. The barrel is match grade, threaded, and wrapped in Proof's carbon fiber, feeding from a 3rd magazine.

The receiver wears a Picatinny rail for optics, and the fixed carbon fiber stock comes in Flat Dark Earth over black metalwork on a right hand action. Short, stiff barrels are accurate barrels, and with a suppressor threaded on, the MTR 2.0 stays shorter than most bare muzzle hunting rifles while shooting like a full size gun. This is a rifle for the hunter who has already decided a can is part of the system and wants a package built around that choice from the start, not adapted to it after the fact.
