Pietta GWII The Shootist 357 Mag 4.75" Revolver

Before John Wayne played the dying gunfighter John Bernard Books in his last film, The Shootist, Great Western Arms presented him with the guns, and he picked them for the role. Pietta's Great Western II The Shootist recreates those guns with a laser engraved, all blued barrel and cylinder and one piece Ultra Ivory grips.

This version is chambered in 357 Magnum with a 4.75" barrel, the classic gunfighter length. The white grips are made to look like aged ivory, so the shade runs anywhere from stark white to off white from one gun to the next, and the contrast makes the engraving read clearly against the deep blue. It is a traditional 1873 pattern single action with a hand cocked hammer. The 357 Magnum chambering is a comfortable choice for range days and cowboy matches, while the Wayne connection makes it a natural fit for a collection of western film guns.
