Mountain Billy Gun Lab GOAT-15 H2 22 LR 7.5" 10rd SBR

The GOAT-15 H2 is a 22 LR short barrel rifle built almost entirely out of polymer, and the weight is the whole story: two pounds two ounces empty, four ounces more with a loaded 10rd magazine. Upper and lower are both polymer, the 7.5" barrel is steel with a black oxide finish, and the finished rifle hangs off a shoulder or rides in a pack without you thinking about it. It runs blowback, the way nearly every rimfire autoloader does, and the receiver carries a standard Picatinny rail with M-LOK slots on the handguard for a light or a sling mount.

The buttstock adjusts through seven positions, so the same rifle fits an adult and a kid on the same range trip. Sights are not included; a red dot is the obvious answer on a gun this small. A patented tamper resistant safety is fitted. Two magazines come with it, a 1rd and a 10rd, which covers single loading practice and normal plinking both. It is configured as a short barrel rifle with a real adjustable stock rather than a brace. Handling is where the design pays off: at roughly two pounds the muzzle goes wherever you point it and there is no recoil to speak of, which makes it a genuinely good teaching gun.
