The MAT9-K runs a roller delayed upper, a system that slows the bolt mechanically instead of leaning on a buffer and a spring. That choice lets the pistol run bufferless, which is why the back of the receiver takes a folding stock adapter rather than a buffer tube. Both the upper and the lower use ambidextrous controls, and the charging handle is non reciprocating and reversible, so a left hand shooter can set it up without swapping parts or living with a handle that runs back and forth next to the optic.

A 1913 rail is fitted on top for optics and accessories. The barrel measures 5.5" and the pistol feeds from Colt pattern 9mm stick magazines, with a 32 round magazine listed as part of the package. Colt pattern magazines are common and easy to find, which keeps the feeding side of this build simple. Matador Arms backs the MAT9-K with a lifetime warranty.
