The 20 gauge Southern Reserve trades a little payload for a lighter gun. It is a 2.75" shell with 1oz of #7.5 lead shot, packed 25rd to the box - an ounce is the classic 20 gauge field charge.

Shooters who spend a September afternoon on a dove field tend to notice the difference between carrying and swinging a 20 versus a 12, and #7.5 keeps enough pellets in a one ounce charge to make the smaller gauge worth it.
