KelTec SU16C 5.56 NATO 16" 10rd Rifle

The KelTec SU16C, the Charlie model, is a gas piston 5.56 NATO rifle with a true underfolding stock that can be fired in the folded position. It takes standard AR-15 magazines and comes with a 10 round magazine, and folded it measures 25.5 inches, short enough for a pack or a truck. The 16 inch medium weight barrel has a chrome lined bore and chamber and is threaded 1/2-28 at the muzzle.

The front sight is built into the gas block and uses an AR-15 style post for elevation, paired with an adjustable rear sight, and a Picatinny rail on top of the receiver takes an optic. The polymer forend folds down to form a bipod. A reciprocating dust cover and a case deflecting operating handle round out the action. Except for the barrel and operating parts the rifle is high impact polymer, and it weighs 4.7 pounds unloaded with a Parkerized finish on the metal. That light weight and the folding stock make the SU16C a good choice as a go anywhere utility rifle for the ranch, the trail or the back of a vehicle, and the gas piston action keeps fouling out of the receiver so it runs clean and smooth.
