The KP50 is Kel-Tec's 50 round 5.7x28mm pistol, and the magazine is the headline. Fifty rounds ride in one magazine that drops free from a conventional magazine well, a redesign of the original P50 that loaded through a top hinged receiver. Reloads work the way they do on any other pistol, which is exactly what Kel-Tec was after.
The 9.6" barrel is threaded 1/2-28, and 5.7x28mm is one of the easier cartridges to suppress, so a can is a natural fit here. Fully machined construction and a B5 Systems grip give it a solid feel in the hand, and the rear Picatinny rail accepts a brace or another accessory so the gun can be configured the way the owner intends to shoot it. Unloaded weight runs about 3.2 lbs, which is light for something carrying this much ammunition. The 5.7x28mm round is flat shooting with very little recoil, and that combination with fifty rounds on tap makes the KP50 an easy gun to shoot well across a long range session. Optics mount to the top rail without adapters.
