About the Inland I-CAN II 5.56mm
The I-CAN II is Inland's 5.56 can. The tube is stainless steel with a black ceramic finish and it runs 7.5 inches long, which is a full size can rather than a short one. Stainless steel gives up some weight to titanium and gives back the ability to take abuse, which is the trade most shooters make on a rifle that gets used hard.
The base is 1/2-28 direct thread, the standard muzzle thread on 5.56 barrels, so it goes on without an adapter or a muzzle device stacked underneath. Direct thread also means nothing to index or torque check between range trips: thread it on, shoot it, take it off. A 7.5 inch can changes the length and balance of a 16 inch carbine noticeably, so that is worth knowing before it goes on.
