Howa M1500 Fence Line 7mm Rem Mag 24" 3rd Bronze Rifle

This is the full size Fence Line, not the Mini Action, chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum behind a 24" barrel. That pairing is classic western hunting: a magnum case with the powder capacity to push a heavy 7mm bullet flat well past 400 yards, and enough barrel length to actually burn that powder instead of throwing it out the muzzle as flash. Howa has been machining the M1500 action in Japan since 1979, and the same barreled action turns up under a long list of other brand names for one simple reason, which is that it shoots.

The Fence Line dress is a scorched earth camo stock with bronze toned metal work, which breaks up an outline in dry open country far better than black does. The muzzle is threaded and wears a factory brake, which is welcome in this chambering. Howa's HACT two stage trigger comes standard, the bolt runs a 90 degree throw with dual locking lugs and an M16 pattern extractor, and there is a three position safety at the rear. The receiver is drilled and tapped for bases. Howa guarantees the action to hold one inch or better at 100 yards with match ammunition. Recoil in 7mm Rem Mag is real but manageable in a rifle of this weight, and the cartridge still gives up almost nothing to the newer magnums on elk and mule deer.
