Howa M1500 Fence Line 6.5 PRC 24" 3rd Scorched Earth Camo Rifle

6.5 PRC is what happens when the bullets that made the 6.5 Creedmoor popular get a bigger case to work with. It stretches the useful range on game and steel without moving up to a cartridge that punishes the shooter for firing it. Howa runs it through a 24" barrel here, which is the length this cartridge wants if it is going to do what it was built to do. The magazine holds 3 rounds.

The Fence Line sits on the Howa 1500 barreled action, a design in production since 1979 and still sold with an accuracy guarantee of 1" or better at 100 yards. The barrel is hammer forged and the HACT two stage trigger is fitted as standard, which is not something most hunting rifles can say. Bolt lift is 90 degrees on dual locking lugs, a spring loaded M16 style extractor clears the case, and the three position safety allows unloading with the safety still on or locks the bolt shut for transport across rough ground. The stock is finished in Scorched Earth Camo, a pattern that reads as broken dirt rather than a specific tree line, so it works from a prairie edge to a burn without looking out of place in either one.
