Howa M1500 Fence Line 6.5 PRC 24" 3rd Gray Light Camo Rifle

Gray Light Camo is the pattern to pick when the country is open and pale. Above the treeline, on rock, in sage, or in snow, a brown rifle turns into a silhouette and a gray one does not. Howa puts that stock on a 6.5 PRC with a 24" barrel, which is the length the cartridge needs to earn its reputation, and a magazine that holds 3 rounds.

Underneath the camo it is the Howa 1500 barreled action, a design in production since 1979 with a written accuracy guarantee of 1" or better at 100 yards attached to it. The barrel is hammer forged and the HACT two stage trigger comes on the rifle rather than being something added later out of frustration. Bolt lift is 90 degrees on dual locking lugs, a spring loaded M16 style extractor clears the case, and the three position safety allows unloading with the safety still engaged or locking the bolt down for transport. 6.5 PRC gives a hunter the reach for open country work on deer, sheep and elk, and it does that without the recoil of the older magnums that used to be the only way to get there. Sight it in once and the cartridge does most of the thinking.
