Hi-Point HP-15 5.56 NATO 16" Heavy Barrel 10rd Rifle

The HP-15 is Hi-Point's move into the AR-15 world, and it lands as a plain, honest carbine rather than a feature chase. This version carries a 16" heavy profile barrel chambered in 5.56 NATO, which adds mass out front and holds point of aim better through a string of fire than a pencil profile will. Upper and lower are forged aluminum, and the controls are mil spec where it counts: bolt release, magazine release, charging handle and a 90 degree manual safety all sit exactly where any AR shooter expects to find them. The muzzle wears an A2 birdcage on standard 1/2-28 threads.

A 15" M-LOK free float handguard runs most of the barrel length, so slings, lights and bipods mount where you want them and nothing touches the barrel. Gas is carbine length, the buffer is a standard carbine unit, and the M4 stock has a QD sling socket built in. The grip is a plain A2. A 10 round magazine and a cable lock come with the rifle. Unloaded weight is 6.25 pounds. For a first AR, or for a working rifle that gets used hard and cleaned rarely, this is a lot of gun without a lot of fuss.
