GForce Arms Refuge 20 GA 28" 4rd Bronze FDE Shotgun

GForce Arms sells the Refuge as a working semi auto for the field, and the 20 gauge version is the one that gets handed to smaller framed shooters and to anyone tired of hauling a 12 around all day. The barrel runs 28 inches, long enough to swing smoothly on crossing birds and keep a consistent shot string, and the magazine holds four rounds. The two tone finish pairs bronze with flat dark earth instead of the usual black or walnut.

Twenty gauge earns its keep in exactly this role. Recoil is a fraction of what a 12 produces with comparable loads, which means a new shooter finishes a box of shells still wanting to shoot and an experienced one stays on target for the follow up. A self loading action takes another bite out of the felt recoil by spreading the impulse across the cycle of the bolt rather than dumping all of it into the shoulder at once. Upland birds, doves, small game and casual clays all sit inside what a 28 inch 20 gauge does well. Nothing about the Refuge is complicated, and that is the point.
