About the Gemtech Abyss 5.56 NATO
Gemtech built the Abyss 5.56 around reduced back pressure, which is the spec that decides how pleasant an AR is to shoot suppressed. Less gas coming back through the port means a cleaner bolt carrier, less fouling in the chamber and far less of it venting past the charging handle into the shooter's eyes. The baffle stack behind that is a newer design than the company's earlier cans, and it does the sound reduction work.
The GM-S1 end cap closes it out and keeps muzzle flash in check. Materials are stainless steel and titanium used together, one for heat and pressure tolerance and the other to hold weight down. Rear threads are HUB compatible for shooters with a mount system in place, and the rating extends up to 6mm ARC, so a 6mm upper is covered alongside the 5.56 hosts. The flat dark earth finish keeps it from disappearing into a sea of black rifle parts.
