About the FN BDA-380 380 ACP
The BDA-380 is FN's compact double stack 380 ACP, a design that filled the gap between a pocket gun and a full service pistol through the late 1970s and into the 1980s. It uses a double action trigger with an exposed hammer and a blued finish over conventional metal construction. Pistols of this generation were built for plainclothes police work and agency issue in Europe, and they were built to a standard that has kept plenty of them working long past the point where anyone expected them to.
This particular example is previously owned and graded good. Good is a working grade rather than a collector grade: expect visible holster wear, bluing thinned along the edges and high spots, and honest handling marks on a pistol that is mechanically sound. In 380 ACP the BDA is soft shooting, and the double stack frame gives it a fuller grip than most guns chambered for the cartridge, which is the first thing owners tend to mention. Blued carbon steel and a hammer on the outside also mean the gun responds to a proper cleaning and a little oil in a way modern polymer pistols never really do. Buying a graded used pistol is a trade: you accept the cosmetics and you get a design that has not been produced in decades.
